The Art Institute of Chicago, “The Obama Portraits”

President Barack Obama and former First Lady Michelle Obama had their first date at The Art Institute of Chicago. Serendipitously, the first stop of their official Presidential Portrait tour brought the couple back to the AIC… as iconic pieces of art. To celebrate this full-circle moment, we worked with the AIC to create an OOH campaign that celebrates the Obamas’ journey “from Chicago to the White House and back again”.

We built the campaign with the city in mind - crafting specific executions for specific locations that were important in the story of the Obamas. South Shore, the AIC, Whitney Young High School, Parkway Gardens, and others all received unique treatments that captured the attention of the city and resulted in a highly successful exhibition for the AIC.

Fun Fact: Michelle Obama and I are both alums of Whitney M. Young Magnet High School. So creating the OOH treatment for the bus stop I used to walk by everyday after school was certainly a career high for me.
